Debenhams Beauty and The Beast collection has launched and I am obsessed! Beauty and The Beast was one of my favourite books and movies as a child. I took my niece to see the remake of the movie and now she is also obsessed and often watches little clips on YouTube. If like me, you love Beauty and The Beast then you will be obsessed with what Debenhams has to offer too. There’s a real chip cup!!! A real one!!!!
*the Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation was not a press ample. No sponsored content or ads are included.
I’m not very easily impressed when it comes to foundations but the Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation keeps selling out so when I finally saw it in the shops I had to try it. It was less than €8 in Penneys and it’s one of my favourite bargain buys.
The Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation comes in a hard plastic bottle which feels like glass making it look expensive. This is one of the first things I really liked. It’s very sturdy (I’m constantly dropping things).
The bottle doesn’t have a pump but it has a dropper. This is isn’t the most convenient thing in my opinion. I think it get’s messy and I’d rather a pump to avoid any mess but you might like it. I decant it onto my Inglot mixing palette which was about €8.
The shade I got the shade 010 Light Beige. I usually find that affordable foundations have pink undertones in all their lightest shades but I like that this one is warm toned. In saying that this is one of the lightest shades and it’s not actually very light. It’s probably similar to MAC NC20-25. I blend this one down my neck slightly and this makes it work for me. It dries down to a darker shade so keep this in mind when you’re choosing your shade.
I found the best way to apply this foundation is to use either a damp beauty blender or to buff it in using a flat top kabuki brush. I didn’t like applying it with a traditional foundation brush, it was too much work to blend. It was much less work using an applicator that would really buff it into the skin.
One pump does my whole face and has a medium buildable coverage. This makes this foundation great value for money because you need less product to build up the coverage and it costs less than €8.
The Catrice HD Liquid foundation will suit normal or oily skin types due to it’s mattifying. It doesn’t look at all powdery on the skin and I love the finish.
This foundation lasts a decent amount of time on my oily face. Shine does come through on my t-zone area as the day goes on but it doesn’t break apart at all or become patchy like a lot of other affordable foundations. Put it this way, I don’t look like a shiny mess. A bit of powder on my forehead and I’m good to go again!
I would compare this Catrice foundation to my favourite Estée Lauder Double Wear because it had good coverage and it lasts brilliantly throughout the day. The Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation has become my new favourite affordable foundation. If you have oily/oily combination skin and you can find your shade then grab this.
I’ve heard a lot of people are having trouble getting this Catrice foundation but I always see it in Penneys so try there.
I would love if you came and followed me on my social media channels @louisekeoghCOM. It means so much to me that you read my posts because I put a lot of time and work into them x
Penneys is absolutely killing it with their AW17 fashion and beauty collection. We’ve seen the mini mouse glitter heels trending online but there’s so much more coming too.
Here are my favourite picks from the press launch that are going to fly out the door. Hopefully we all grab some of these pieces for AW17.
Let’s just mention the famous glittery heels for anyone who hasn’t seen them. An absolute steel at €19 and available from Penneys in gold and black.
Sticking with shoes we have these gorgeous Pyrex glitter heels with a black sole and clear strap. They’ll go with everything and hopefully that block heel is as comfortable as it looks.
On to boots we have these really cool metallic silver boot with pointy heel. This type of heel is so on trend this season and if you’re looking for something that’s casual and more of statement than black, then these are your new babies. I like to splash out on black boots (if I can) and pick up trendy things like these from Penneys
Tassel earrings are everywhere! I don’t usually fork out on items like this so thankfully Penneys have us covered with earrings starting at €3! I’m hoping to nab these ones.
On to clothes and sticking with the tassel trend is this white jumper. I think it’s gorgeous and hoping it’s as cosey as it looks. Perfect with jeans and boots.
Embroidry is here to stay and I’m loving this skirt. I think skirt from Penneys is super cute.
There’s so much to choose from Penneys AW17 collection so if my top picks didn’t tickle your fancy then these gorgeous bits just might.
I love sharing what’s coming out in the shops (especially Penneys because I love a bargain) with you guys so if you’d like to see more then please let me know. You’ll find me on social media @louisekeoghCOM. Please come and say hi! Likes and comments help me out so much. Your support means everything to me x
*contains press sample that was gifted by ProFusion Cosmetics to try. No sponsored content or ads are included.
I received a huge package of goodies from Profusion Makeup Europe recently. ProFusion Cosmetics are a makeup brand from California. They have big palettes at affordable prices so I had a little swatch sesh of the Trendsetter Face Palette so that you could have a look see!
I was so impressed with the packaging. It comes in a pleather case with a mirror which is super handy. It’s easy to wipe clean and it’s sturdy too which is great.
One side of the palette contains eyeshadow and the other contains bronzer, blush, highlight, lipstick, eyeliner and brushes.
The eyeshadow colours are well thought out. There’s light, medium and dark shades as well as cool, warm and bright tones. There’s a good mixture of mattes and shimmers too so it’s very easy to create a variety of looks with the selection.
The face side is also well thought out with light, medium and dark shades in all the powders and the lipstick comes in nude and a dark purple.
The only thing I wouldn’t personally get use out of is the brushes. I think they’re on the rough side but everything else is decent for the price.
Yes, some of the eyeshadows are powdery but for me it’s expected with most eyeshadows from an affordable brand. The blush and bronzes are especially nice.
If you’re starting out in makeup or if you want to experiment with colours then you will like the Profusion Face Kit. It’s €14.99 and available in pharmacies nationwide.
After trying these I would be interested to see what other gems the brand has to offer.
Don’t forget to follow me on my social media channels @LouiseKeoghCOM your comments and support really help me out and they mean so much x

Around this time last year I finished the Vanity X Diploma in Professional Makeup Artistry. It seems like the perfect time for my review because I can tell you about the course and what I got out of it. If you’re looking to become a makeup artist or if you love makeup and want to up skill then you need to keep reading.
If you’re interested in becoming a professional makeup artist you’ll be doing a lot of research on courses. I did the Diploma in Professional Makeup Artistry with VanityX Makeup Academy and have a full review here. Every single person in my class came on leaps and bounds by the end of the course. Rather than just show you my work I thought I’d show you all the girls work. This will give you an idea of the looks you will be able to create by the end of your course.
As soon as I saw the L.O.V Cosmetics eyeshadow palettes I straight away thought of Hourglass Eyeshadow Palettes. The shape of the pan along with the colour combinations are so similar and naturally as a blogger I straight away want to see if I’ve found a dupe. The Hourglass Eyeshadow Palette are approx. €70 and L.O.V are only €16. Keep reading to see if I’ve found a good dupe!
The new Rockstar collection from Sleek was released yesterday and I was lucky enough to attend the launch and sample the products. The collection is perfect for autumn/winter, Christmas party season and for those that love a bit of highlight and sparkle. I’ve swatches of everything in the collection to show you and a glowy party look that I created to show you too.
What attracted me to the Makeup Revolution New-Trals Vs Neutrals palette was 1. That it looks very similar to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette 2. It’s a very affordable price (€9.65) and 3. Those red and coral shades that you never see in affordable palettes. Just look at them colours!
The new collection of Alex and Ani Liberty Copper collection was going to be featured in some upcoming gift guides (for the C word) but after hearing the meaning behind the collection and seeing it in person I couldn’t not feature it in an article of its own.
Dubbed as the dupe for MAC strobe cream the Botanical Radiance Balm doesn’t disappoint. While it’s not an exact dupe it’s very similar and well worth the purchase for those looking for an affordable alternative to everyone’s favourite illuminater.
I kind of went a bit overboard with my ColourPop order so I thought I’d show you my haul and let you know what my first impressions were. That way if you’re able to justify a huge order like I did then you’ll get some ideas.
The NYX Tame & Frame Tinted Brow Pomade is one of my favourite budget buys of 2016. It’s perfect for those that love a sculpted or HD brow and don’t want to fork out on the more expensive ones because there’s really no need. Even if you’re unsure if you like using this sort of product on your brows it’s only 7.50 in Boots so you won’t feel bad if it doesn’t work for you. I’ve loved using this brow gel when I want a defined brow.
As soon as the NYX counters came to boots I ran to my nearest one and picked up loads (a bit too much maybe!). The NYX HD concealer was one of the products that stood out to me. I’ve been trying it out for a couple of months now and I can’t fault it for so many reasons.
